Meet the Ashburnham Historical Society team!

Christine Eddy

I have been a proud resident of Ashburnham for 25 years, raising my family here and cherishing this town’s scenic beauty, rich history, and—most of all—the people who care so deeply about preserving it. From my earliest years growing up in New York and on Long Island, I’ve been drawn to New England and its sense of place and tradition. My professional path has included work in mental health and developmental services, childcare (including the first licensed daycare in a Vermont community), art galleries, and schools for students with multiple disabilities.
Throughout my years in Ashburnham, I have also volunteered extensively in the school district—supporting teachers, serving as chair of the Special Education Parent Advisory Council, and later contributing as a member of the School Committee. Community service and collaboration have always been central to my life, and I am honored to serve with the Ashburnham Historical Society. Working alongside such a dedicated group of volunteers to preserve our town’s history is a privilege and a joy.

President

Kathi Theriault

My family has been connected to Ashburnham since the 1700's.  My husband and I have lived here for nearly 50 years, raised our family here and we have both worked in Ashburnham.

Treasurer

Roberta Theriault

My Focus with AHS is a shared interest in expanding and preserving what we already have of our rich heritage. AHS is a cornerstone of our larger community, a gathering place where our shared backgrounds come to life. I’m committed and look forward to sharing our future together. Living and loving our town for 50 years as an artist and the caretaker of a ten acre homestead; gardener, jam and chutney maker, reader, and researcher.

I have always been fascinated by the mysteries of the world. The vast amount of knowledge that has existed across all of time, both the extraordinary and the truly mundane. In its totality orders of magnitudes more than one person could ever know; yet I've always wanted to know as much of it as possible. Through doing this, helping to spread history to the community, my hope is that I can awaken that same spark of curiosity in others.

I have lived in town my entire life. Spent five years on the Ashburnham Planning Board, have spent 40 years on the Water Sewer Board, the last two as chairman, and have been moderator and on the Board of The Ashburnham Community Church for 10 years. I was a past president of The Ashburnham Historical Society, served as president of the Naukeag Lake Club for 50 years, have been the Commanding Officer of our town’s Light Infantry for 50 years, on the town’s 225th and 250th anniversary committees and on the Ashburnham/Winchendon Joint Water Authority Board for 10 years. I love my town and will continue to serve as I can, forever!
